Bear Sanctuary Prishtina is near the village of Mramor, about 20 km from Prishtina. It is a FOUR PAWS project that gives rescued brown bears a large, near-natural home in place of the small cages some of them lived in before. About 16 hectares of habitat are set aside for them, and the sanctuary has been open to visitors since 2013.
A walking trail leads through the sanctuary, so you can watch the bears in their own habitats while you learn their stories and about animal welfare in Kosovo. With nature trails and educational activities, it suits anyone who wants wildlife and a relaxed day outdoors in one visit.
Why it is special. It combines nature, wildlife, education and conservation, so the visit is both enjoyable and meaningful.
